Little Mix star takes a pop at Simon Cowell in her debut solo single

Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall takes a pop at her former boss Simon Cowell in her debut solo single.

The former girl group member is set to release her first single as a solo artist, after the band announced they were going on hiatus in December 2021.

The song, Angel Of My Dreams, features the telling line “sold my soul to a SyCo” – which is a reference to Simon’s now-defunct record label.

Jade also looks to have taken a stab at the former X Factor judge in the music video for the track, which she has been secretly shooting in London.

The promo clip features a mysterious man smoking a cigar who controls the music industry – which many fans will see as a nod to Simon.

The singer and her former bandmates Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson and Leigh-Anne Pinnock were formed on The X Factor back in 2011, and were later signed by Simon’s label.

However, the relationship between the band and the boss turned sour after the group confronted Simon in a strongly worded email over their writing credits.

A bigger row between their management company and Simon led to the group deciding to cut ties with SyCo in 2018.

The girls then moved to RCA and released their fifth album LM5.

Jade is the last of the Little Mix girls to kick start their solo careers, with fans eagerly awaiting her debut single.

Leigh-Anne has released two successful solo singles, and Perrie announced her brand-new solo single last month.

Meanwhile, Jesy left the band back in 2020 and has been releasing music on her own since.

The brand announced their indefinite hiatus back in December 2021, and soon after embarked on their Confetti world tour.
