Kate Wright has revealed she had just one week to find a new wedding dress, after her original gown “wasn’t made right”.

The former TOWIE star married ex-footballer Rio Ferdinand in Marmaris, Turkey on Friday, and posed for a gorgeous shoot in OK! magazine.

The 28-year-old stunned in a lace fishtail Berta gown on the day, which she sourced just days before they said ‘I do’.

During their cover interview, Kate said: “I had been having a dress made since January but it all went wrong and it just wasn’t made right. A week before we flew to Turkey, I still didn’t have a dress.”

“It was a total nightmare and I was stressed! I had to have an entire new dress made by The Wedding Club and fitted within a week.”

But Kate explained: “In the end I adored my dress and preferred it to the original. Some things are meant to be.”

Emotions were high on the day of their wedding, and Rio admitted he was in tears watching his kids get involved in the ceremony.

Rio’s eight-year-old daughter Tia sweetly served as Kate’s maid of honour, while his sons Lorenz, 13, and Tate, 11, walked her halfway down the aisle.

He said: “I cried as soon as the day started. Seeing Tia walk up the aisle before Kate set me off. It was just so emotional. There was just no going back on the emotion, that’s why I had to keep my shades on!”

“Seeing Tate and Lorenz walk Kate down the aisle was particularly poignant and we wouldn’t have wanted to do it any other way. They were so proud and they couldn’t wait to do that, they felt important.”

The pair tied the knot at The D Maris Bay hotel in Turkey, and R&B star Ashanti performed at their nuptials.

Rio started dating Kate in late 2016, following the death of his wife Rebecca in 2015.

The pair announced their engagement last November, after he proposed to her on a family trip to Abu Dhabi.
