Holly Willoughby is reportedly set for a huge pay rise with her new This Morning contract.
The ITV show was plunged into chaos earlier this year, when it was revealed that Holly’s co-host and former close friend Phillip Schofield had an affair with a younger male colleague.
Phillip quit the show AND ITV as a result of the scandal, which Holly later addressed in an emotional speech.
According to MailOnline, Holly will return to the show in September, as she has been reportedly offered a lucrative new contract to save it.
A source told the publication: “Holly is going back. People have been saying she won’t for some time now but she is.”
“ITV want her back, and they are delighted she has agreed. It will be made official shortly but it will save This Morning, it will ease a huge crisis that they are in.”
“It most probably would have been game over for them if Holly had left,” the insider added.
It is understood that Holly will be paid more than the current £700,000 salary she receives for hosting the show four days a week.
Last month, Holly addressed Phillip’s affair live on air, as she return to This Morning after a break.
Addressing viewers, she said: “Firstly, are you ok? I hope so. It’s very strange indeed sitting here without Phil. I imagine that you might have been feeling a lot like I have. Shaken, troubled, let down, worried for the wellbeing of people on all sides of what’s been going on, and full of questions.”
“You, me, and all of us at This Morning gave our love and support to someone who was not telling the truth. Who acted in a way that they themselves felt that they had to resign from ITV and step down from a career that they loved. That is a lot to process.”
“It’s equally hard to see the toll that it’s taken on their own mental health. I think what unites us all now is the desire to heal for the health and wellbeing of everyone.”
