Henry Cavill has revealed that he is expecting his first child with his girlfriend Natalie Viscuso.
The Superman star confirmed the news to Access Hollywood and said: “I’m very excited about it. Natalie and I are very, very excited.”
The couple has been together now for three years after they went Instagram official in 2021, featuring on each other’s accounts since.
The actor posted a photo of the two of them playing chess to confirm their relationship in April 2021.
The caption read: “This is me looking quietly confident shortly before my beautiful and brilliant love Natalie, destroys me at chess.”
Since the pair made their red carpet debut at the premier of the film Enola Holmes 2, in which Henry plays the character of Sherlock Holmes.
Previously the actor told Men’s Health UK in 2017 : “If I ever have kids one day, I want to be the dad who’s running round after them.”
“And if I do have kids, even now, it’s starting to get quite late. But I want to be a fit and healthy dad, not hobbling round like, ‘OK, I’m just going to catch a breather’.”
Back in 2021, the 40-year-old took to Instagram to address the speculation around his personal life and relationship.
He wrote: “Dear fans and followers, I wanted to make a wee community announcement. I couldn’t help but notice that there has been some social animosity of late.”
“It’s becoming increasingly prevalent on my feed. There has been lots of, let’s call it speculation for now, about my private life and professional partnerships.”
“Now, while I do appreciate the passion and support by those very people who are “speculating”, It has come to such a point that I needed to say something, which in itself, is a bad thing.”
He continued: “Even your most conservative of negative assumptions about both my personal and professional life just aren’t true. Let’s embrace this age of social enlightenment together, and move forward with positivity.”
“I am very happy in love, and in life. I’d be enormously grateful if you were happy with me. If you can’t bring yourself to be happy with me, then at the very least try to do yourself proud and be the best version of yourself,” he said to end the message.
