Cara Delevingne responds to backlash for ‘snubbing’ F1 legend Martin Brundle at British Grand Prix

Cara Delevingne came under fire on Sunday for “snubbing” F1 legend Martin Brundle at the British Grand Prix.

The former racing driver turned broadcaster was covering the live action from Silverstone for Sky Sports when he spotted the model on the grid.

Martin approached Cara with a microphone, but was quickly shut down by a man beside her who said she “doesn’t want to talk”.

The broadcaster still attempted to speak to the 30-year-old, but Cara shook her head and repeatedly said “no” as Martin tried to talk to her.

Clearly annoyed by her attitude, the presenter turned away and sarcastically told viewers: “Okay, well, I’m sure it would have been extremely interesting…”

A clip of the incident has since gone viral on social media, as F1 fans have slammed Cara for snubbing the beloved broadcaster.

Defending herself on Twitter, Cara reposted a tweet on Sunday which read: “At this point, Martin Brundle is just doing it to manufacture the moment for the controversy of it all.”

“You can clearly see the PR rep tell him ‘no’ and shake his head when he goes up towards Cara Delevingne. He had an out and he chose not to take it to make a statement.”

Cara added: “I was told to say no so I did. Thank you for seeing both sides xxx.”

In another tweet, the supermodel said: “Anyway, I had so much fun today and was so happy to be there no matter what anyone else may think x.”

The 30-year-old also reposted another tweet that said she “has every right to deny to be interviewed”, and claimed: “National treasure or not, that doesn’t give him the right to demand interviews from anyone.”
