Yvonne Keating’s partner John Conroy has landed a serious contract with Showtime series Penny Dreadful.
John, who is a cinematographer, is the new Director of Photography on the show, which stars Eva Green and Josh Hartnett.
John, 45, is working on the series which is filmed in Dublin and Wicklow.
“I am following on from two other great Irish DOP’s – PJ Dillon and Owen McPolin – who worked on the show last year,” John said.

“So, I am kind of following on from the work they have done before. Owen set it up this year so I am happy to follow on from him and perhaps bring my own stamp to it.
“But it’s set up really well,” he told movie website IFTN.ie.
John admitted he prefers working on Penny Dreadful compared to international productions, because he can be closer to Yvonne and his children.
“I’m away from my family and loved ones with an international production,” he explained.

“For Penny Dreadful I am meeting people who I haven’t worked with or seen in a couple of years because I have spent most of my time based in London.”
Meanwhile John said his father Jack Conroy, who was the Director of Photography on Jim Sheridan’s My Left Foot, is his inspiration.
John and Yvonne have been dating since 2012, after splitting from Ronan Keating.
