Love Island fans are renaming the show ‘Tyrique Island’ after the latest episode.
The footballer won over viewers during Thursday’s show, with many calling it his “redemption arc”.
In the episode, the 24-year-old stood up for his partner Ella amid tension in the villa.
The drama kicked off after Zach admitted to cheating in the past during a juicy game of Never Have I Ever.
Ella and Jess took issue with Zach’s confession, as they claimed “once a cheater, always a cheater” – which prompted Mitch to chime in and defend Zach, disagreeing with the two girls.
The next day, Tyrique called out Mitch for constantly defending Molly and Zach, asking him: “Who made you spokesperson of the villa?”
He also claimed Mitch had an “agenda” to go against his partner Ella.
Tyrique said: “You are not Molly’s hero, you are not involved in that relationship so why do you even care?”
After Mitch insisted he would stick up for what he believed in, Tyrique hit back by saying: “If that’s the path you wanna go down, defend everyone – don’t just be a hero for certain people!”
Fans have since praised Tyrique’s behaviour during the episode, and commended him for the way he stuck up for Ella.
Having secured himself a place in the Love Island Hall of Fame, viewers also said the show should be renamed ‘Tyrique Island’.
