Connected star Nicole McQuillan initially turned down RTE reality show over nerves sharing WHOLE life

She’s one of five young women who have agreed to film their lives warts and all on RTE’s newest reality show.

But Nicole McQuillan admits she feared baring all on Connected – and initially turned down the offer.

Unlike Fade Street, Made in Chelsea or TOWIE, last night’s first episode showed none of the scenes on Connected are set up, instead the women film exactly what happens to them.

And the 21-year-old law student, who hopes to become a glamour model, finally changed her mind and ended up shooting “everything” in her life for ten months.

She added: “They were looking for someone my age and a producer approached me about it. I think I was one of the last to be picked.

“At first I said no because it was too personal. I was really into my modelling and not really interested in the TV side of things.

“But I took the camera for a few weeks to try it out and decided that it was too much of an opportunity to pass up.

“My mam was worried. She was saying, ‘God, you’re putting your whole private life out there to the world, are you sure you want to do that?”

Now Nicole, from Baldoyle in Dublin, has been left with “some stuff that I’m nervous about people seeing” across the 20 episodes of the show.

Goss.ie can reveal that the second episode centers around a fight with her boyfriend Noel – who has to especially be convinced to appear.

“He’s a very shy person. He’s completely different to me and it was quite hard to get him in front of the camera, but he’s in it a good bit,” she told the Sunday World.

“I had mixed reactions from my friends too. Some of them were shocked and I could see that some of them were a bit jealous.

“I would be too if one of my friends got an opportunity like that and I didn’t. Some people didn’t want to be in front of the camera.

“But the majority didn’t mind at all, which made my life a lot easier because the last thing you need is people making a fuss about the camera being there – especially when you’re so used to it.”
