Controversial footballer Roy Keane turned down a massive €500,000 offer to appear on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.
However Keano – who producers have called their “all time dream guest” turned down the big money offer for now.
Sources have revealed they offered him at least €500,000, and would be willing to increase it even further – knowing the publicity they would get out of him.
Winner: Kian won I’m A Celeb
“Roy Keane would be absolute box office gold and for him even to meet with ITV, they must have thought they had a real shot at getting him since he didn’t just dismiss them out of hand,” a source told the Sun.
“ITV have offered six-figure deals to contestants but they would break the bank to get Roy Keane on board, you’re talking ‘500,000 and over, easily.
“He would be the all-time dream guest. The publicity he’d bring would pay for itself!”
Yesterday Keane, 43, admitted he hasn’t ruled out an appearance some time in the future, saying: “There’s more to life than football.”
An I’m A Celeb spokeswoman said: “The full line-up will be revealed in the coming weeks. We do not comment on potential contestants.”
