Netflix fans have the same complaint about The Gentlemen – starring Theo James and Kaya Scodelario

WARNING: This article contains spoilers for season one of The Gentlemen on Netflix.

The Gentlemen finally hit Netflix earlier this month, following much-anticipation.

The series, based on Guy Ritchie’s 2019 film of the same name, has been widely praised on social media since its release.

However, some fans have taken issue with one element of the plot.

The series follows Eddie Horniman (Theo James), a dashing aristocrat who unexpectedly inherit his father’s sizeable country estate – only to discover it’s part of a cannabis empire.

Moreover, a host of unsavoury characters from Britain’s criminal underworld want a piece of the operation. Determined to extricate his family from their clutches, Eddie tries to play the gangsters at their own game.

However, as he gets sucked into the world of criminality, he begins to find a taste for it.

Embroiled in London’s dark underworld, Eddie attempts to thrive and survive with the help of career criminal Bobby Glass (Ray Winstone), and his daughter Susie Glass (Kaya Scodelario).

Throughout the series, there is an undeniable chemistry between Theo and Kaya’s characters Eddie and Susie.

But sadly, the pair never end up getting together, which has frustrated fans of the show.

One viewer tweeted: “The chemistry between Eddie and Susie glass in the gentlemen is golden. I was patiently waiting for them to kiss and they didn’t. 😭😭.”

Another simply wrote: “I need Susie and Eddie to be together #thegentlemen

A third social media user commented: “They really needed to seal that deal with a kiss! @netflix you have some splaining to do!”

While Eddie and Susie kept their relationship strictly platonic in season one, fans will be holding out hope for a romance to blossom between them in a potential second season.

Netflix has not yet renewed The Gentlemen for a second season, however, there are strong indications that a renewal is on the cards.
