Marty Whelan bids on RTÉ’s Dancing With The Stars gig

Marty Whelan has admitted that he’d love to host RTÉ’s upcoming show Dancing With The Stars.

While the RTÉ star is yet to be approached by show bosses, Marty said he take it as a “compliment” if he was offered the presenting gig.

RTÉ’s Dancing With The Stars will take over The Voice of Ireland’s prime time slot on RTÉ One, after the talent show was axed.

“If someone came up and said, ‘We’d like to talk to you about this’, most of us would, because this is going to be very glamorous and gorgeous and it is great light entertainment television,” he told Independent.ie.

The production company behind the show, ShinAwil, have already begun the casting process – with RTÉ’s Grainne Seoige having already screen-tested for them.

However, the show is hoping to have both a male and female host – and Winning Streak presenter Marty could snap up the opportunity.

“One should never shoot down something that clearly would be what you do,” he added.
