Love/Hate's John Connors: 'It might be the best thing if show NEVER returns'

Love/Hate star John Connors has admitted it might be better for the gangland show to never return to screens.

RTE have already confirmed that the series won’t be back until at least 2016, after last year’s shock killing of Nidge.

And John – who plays bomb maker Patrick – says the “best thing to do” might be to kill off Love/Hate for good.

He said: “Sometimes it’s good to go out without a bang. The show might not come back.

“And that might be the best thing to do – unless there’s a new angle and a new storyline and new characters.”

However if Love/Hate does come back, the Traveller told the Star he would be willing to step up and take over Nidge’s role.

He said: “Would I like to? Yes, and no. Yes, because I think it’s a great show.”

Insiders have revealed that John is most likely to step up to the lead role if Love/Hate does return.
