Little Mix star signs up for Holly Willoughby’s new Netflix survival show

Former Little Mix star Jesy Nelson has reportedly signed up to appear on Netflix’s new survival show, hosted by Holly Willoughby and Bear Grylls.

Titled Bear Hunt, the series will follow celebrity contestants as they’re pitted against survival expert Bear Grylls.

The programme has already been described as a more challenging version of the BBC’s Survivor and will be filmed in Costa Rica this summer.

A source told The Sun: “Casting agents have approached Jesy to see if she would be interested and have deep pockets to ensure it’s worth her time financially.

“She has a huge fanbase and the reality challenge series would be the perfect comeback for her.

“Filming takes place for a few weeks so she won’t even be away from home and her creature comforts for too long. Jesy will be incredible.”

Netflix bosses are said to be shelling out £10 million to secure a star-studded line-up for the new series.

A source said: “Netflix are determined their collection will be largely killer, with very little filler.”

“They’re not scrimping on paying six-figure fees and aren’t afraid to cough up more for the biggest names.”

“They’ll be shelling out an eight-figure sum in all, so the cast will be one of the most expensive in reality TV history.”

Bear, 49, and Holly, 43, will reportedly be paid £1 million each for the series.

Holly, who quit ITV’s This Morning last October, has been the face of daytime TV in the UK for over a decade.

Netflix bosses have said: “Holly was their woman for this project from the word go.”

“They are absolutely delighted to have got her to sign on the line, hopefully there will be many more opportunities to work with her down the line too.”

A source also said: “Holly and her team grafted for this deal with Netflix and negotiated a very attractive package.”

“Holly knows her worth and only wants to put her name on credible projects. She is ready to go into the next league.”

The 43-year-old is no stranger to filming in the jungle, as she stepped in to host I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here alongside Declan Donnelly in 2018.

The presenter briefly replaced Ant McPartlin, who was recovering from addiction issues at the time.

News of Holly’s latest TV gig comes after Cat Deeley officially replaced her on This Morning alongside Ben Shepherd, five months after she announced her departure.

The mother-of-three sensationally quit the programme after 14 years in October, after an alleged plot to kidnap and murder her was exposed by police.

Holly remained out of the spotlight for months after the scare, but returned to TV screens in January to host Dancing On Ice alongside Stephen Mulhern.
