Aidan Turner’s popular BBCÂ Poldark has some competition in the ratings war –Â as a new period drama show has been announced.
ITV’s Victoria stars Doctor Who’s Jenna Coleman and is set to air at the same time as Poldark at 9PM.
The two shows are both romantic historical dramas that follow the title characters lives.

It’s a risky move by ITV to air at the same time as the 18th-century drama as it already has a cult following with up to 9.5 million viewers per episode.
Poldark has proved that these type of shows are popular with audiences as Aidan had confirmed that there is a season three set to film soon.
