Aidan Turner INJURED on the set of Poldark

Aidan Turner has revealed that while filming for Poldark, a crashing wave caused a boat to slam into his head.

The Dublin native stars as lead Ross Poldark in the hit BBC show, and has been filming the latest season in Cornwall.

“There’s nothing like the Cornish sea at the height of winter for putting you in your place,” he said.

The actor said that he not only got a nasty knock from the boat in their scene – but he also dropped co-star Eleanor Tomlinson into the water.

“We were filming me lifting Demelza out of a boat in the actual sea when this huge wave picked up the boat and slammed it into my head,” he told Radio Times.

“I dropped her in the water – not very Ross Poldark.

“And nobody was coming to see if I’m OK. I was the man injured!”

The 33-year-old warned to not be so mindless about nature and that Mother Nature doesn’t care how popular Poldark is.

“These waves, you wouldn’t think there’s anything to them.

“But once you get out there you’re at the mercy of Mother Nature and she doesn’t care how well the previous season rated,” he added.
