Love/Hate actor BrÃan F O’Byrne is set to appear in US Civil War drama Mercy Street – as another law enforcement officer.
The RTE star, who played DI Mick Moynihan on the gangland show, will appear on Mercy Street’s upcoming second season, as Scotsman Allan Pinkerton, the head of the Union Intelligence Service.
Allan, who founded the Pinkerton National Detective Agency, provided bodyguards to US President Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War.

The drama, which is shown on US station PBS, is currently in production in the state of Virginia.
Meanwhile, the Tony award-winning actor is no stranger to American screens, having appeared on a number of American TV shows including The Last Ship and Flash Forward as well as Clint Eastwood’s Million Dollar Baby.
