Xpose's Lisa Cannon: 'It was a choice for me not to marry before now. I've been married to my career'

Xpose star Lisa Cannon can’t wait to walk up the aisle later this year – after being married to her career for so long.

The TV3 presenter, 36, will wed Welsh rugby player fiance Richard Keatley in Italy this September, after previously being a bridesmaid five times.

But Lisa admits it has been a major idea shift for her, after previously never being “madly keen” on tying the knot.

Love: Lisa will marry Richard in Italy | XPOSE

She said: “It was a choice for me not to marry before now. I’ve been married to my career for so long and I enjoyed it and I won’t apologise for it.

“I was never madly keen on getting married, but then you get to a stage where you’re happy to make that next step and it’s something you do for both of you.”

She added: “I’m the last one in Xposé to either get married or have a baby so hopefully 2015 will be my year.”

Lisa is currently “in talks” to sign a big-money magazine deal to sell photos of the big day – and wants to have the Xpose team with her in Italy.

She said: “I couldn’t not have my girls — and my boy! — with me. It’s a very small wedding but I consider the Xposé team my close friends so of course I want them to be there.

“Obviously it’ll depend on the show as to who can come as we’ll need an anchor at home, unless they let us anchor the show from Florence!”

And Lisa told the Sun that after seeing Glenda Gilson wed last August, and Karen Koster in 2013, she’s well up on weddings.

She said: “I’m like Katherine Heigl in 27 Dresses. That was a problem when it came to choosing my bridesmaids but a few stepped in and said I didn’t have to have them as bridesmaids which was really cool.

“So I’ve created a whole new trend. I’m having three bridesmaids and three usherettes, who’ll be wearing corsages and will be involved in the day. I think it’s a great idea for anyone who wants to include their friends.”
