This is how much Ryan Tubridy was paid after he was taken off air by RTÉ

Ryan Tubridy was paid €12,500 per month by RTÉ for three months of radio services earlier this year, despite being off air for over two of those months.

The presenter was pulled from his RTÉ Radio 1 show back in June, after the broadcaster admitted his earnings had been publicly understated by €345k over six years.

According to new documents released to the Dáil’s Public Accounts Committee, Ryan entered negotiations for a radio-only contract with RTÉ after stepping down as host of The Late Late Show in May.

It’s understood Ryan’s agent was unhappy with the fee offered, so a short-form contract was suggested until they came to an agreement on a new contract.

The short-term radio contract promised payments of €12,500 per month for June, July and August.

However, Ryan was pulled from the airwaves from June 22nd amid the payments scandal, and never returned to his radio show in July and August.

Despite this, he was still paid €12,500 per month for June, July and August.

In a statement, RTÉ said: “As previously confirmed by RTÉ Director-General, Kevin Bakhurst, Ryan Tubridy was paid by RTÉ while off air at RTÉ’s request.

“Negotiations regarding a new contract (radio only) ended in August and any fees outstanding were subsequently paid.”

Ryan has since landed a new job in the UK, hosting his own show on Virgin Radio.

Last month, Goss.ie exclusively revealed how the broadcaster was relocating to London in the New Year, after landing a new hosting gig.
