This is how Cillian Murphy celebrated his Best Actor win at the Oscars

It’s been quite the week for our very own Cillian Murphy.

The Cork native took home the Oscar for Best Actor at the 96th Academy Awards on Sunday night, making him the first Irish-born man to receive the award.

Cillian was joined by his wife Yvonne McGuinness and their two sons Malachy, 18, and Aran, 16, for the historic moment – but how did they celebrate his big win?

Well according to Instagram, the 47-year-old stopped by Madonna’s Oscars after-party on Sunday night to celebrate his accolade.

The legendary singer, who is currently in the midst of her Celebration Tour, hosts a huge post-Oscars bash every year, which is attended by major celebrities.

Taking to Instagram after the party, Madonna shared a photo of her and Cillian at the event, and revealed that he’s her favourite actor.

She captioned the post: “Oscar Party was FUN! 🎉🎉 Not exactly a night off for a girl that needs a night off but Im so Happy I got to meet my favorite A.C.T.O.R! #cillianmurphy – Congratulations!”

The following morning, Cillian continued the celebrations over brunch with his Peaky Blinders co-star Sam Neill.

The Cork native met up with Sam for some much-needed Bloody Mary’s in LA, and posed for a snap with his shiny new Oscar.

Sam shared the photo on his Instagram account, alongside the caption: “OSCAR! Here’s me pal #CillianMurphy the next day with the Gold Fella, and me.”

“I could not be more thrilled, as you see. So well deserved. We had a great catch up . And a Bloody Mary. Or two. What an actor , what a performance and what a movie #Oppenheimer #oscars #peakyblinders.

Cillian took home his first-ever Oscar during the 96th Academy Awards on Sunday night.

The prestigious event was held in Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre, and saw a host of stars from the film industry receive a nod for their recent work.

The Irish actor took home the award for Best Actor for his role as Robert J. Oppenheimer in Christopher Nolan’s award-winning film, Oppenheimer.

The 47-year-old has won critical acclaim for his in Christopher Nolan’s biopic about the nuclear physicist.

Cillian has swept awards season this year, also winning Best Actor at the Golden Globes, SAG Awards and BAFTAs.

The Peaky Blinders actor went up against Bradley Cooper, Colman Domingo, Paul Giamatti and Jeffrey Wright on Sunday night.

The others were nominated for their respective roles in Maestro, Rustin, The Holdovers and American Fiction.
