Soccer star Stephanie Roche admits that she wants to have children in the future but not until she can afford them.
Ireland’s leading female footballer rose to fame after being nominated for the Fifa Puskas Award in 2014 against  soccer superstars James Rodriguez and Robin Van Persie.Â
“I want to have kids, not yet, but I want to be able to have the money to have kids,” she said.

The Dublin native also revealed that being a full time female sports star has it’s financial downsides and hopes that matters will improve in the future for the sport.
“Hopefully it will improve and get to the stage where women are making more. We have some really good players coming up in Ireland and I’d like to hope that when they’re coming up they might have better opportunities than we have,” she explained.
The 26-year-old is currently dating footballer Dean Zambra and admitted that the pair don’t train together all too often as they are both competitive and it leads to disagreements.
“We’d train a little bit together but we try not to do any one-on-one because we’re both very competitive and that ends in arguments. We kind of have to walk away from one another if we did that,” she told Woman’s Way.
The Shankill footballer has a set back after she was dropped from her USA soccer team after only three months but she has signed a new two year contract with Sunderland A.F.C in the UK.
