Ex-Westlife star Shane Filan has told how wife Gillian was his “therapy” as he hit rock bottom going bankrupt.
The Sligo singer stopped him from slumping into depression after he ended up owing the banks a massive €23million following the collapse of his property development business.
And Shane – who has now moved back to his home county – knows he wouldn’t have coped without Gillian keeping him sane.

He added: “She was my therapy. I don’t know how bad it would have been without her. It’s hard to know how I would have coped without her.
“She was that person that kept me focussed and kept me positive. There was an awful lot to be negative about but she wouldn’t let me.”

And Shane, 35, said that Gillian was the person who made him move on from his hell and start up a solo career.
He added: “She gave me the push I needed when it came to the solo career and kept me focussed.
“She was amazing. She was the rock. You need that someone in your life.”
Previously Gillian told Goss.ie how going bankrupt actually made their relationship stronger.
