Ruth Negga has opened up about her Oscar nod.
The Limerick native was announced as one of the stars nominated for Best Actress at this year’s Academy Awards.
“I think it’s something that actors dream of,” she said.

Speaking before the Oscars nominations were announced this afternoon, Ruth admitted that she is happy that the award buzz is surrounding her film Loving.
“It’s kind of disarming, in many ways because you work and you think this is something that happens to other people,” she told Spin 1038.
You know what’s lovely? It’s a buzz that’s surrounding a project that I’m so proud of. I love this film, I think it’s a great film about two extraordinary people.
“To have the opportunity to play Mildred and spend time with her and share her with the world is a great privilege. For people to recognise our film is incredibly flattering.”
