Rosanna Davison: ‘I gained a stone after my wedding!’

HELLO! Magazine

Rosanna Davison has revealed that she gained a stone after her wedding.

The nutritionist is the figure of health now with her best-selling book Eat Yourself Beautiful, but admitted that she let herself go after maintaining such a strict health and fitness regime ahead of marrying her husband Wes Quirke back in 2014.

“I put on weight very quickly after our wedding in 2014,” she said.

The blonde beauty explained that she had never before struggled with her weight – but let herself relax and enjoy some treats.

“Gaining a stone pretty quickly was a huge knock to my self-esteem, as I hadn’t really struggled with my weight that much up until then,” she told the Sunday Independent Life Magazine.

“Once the wedding was over, I felt that I could relax and enjoy all the foods I had banned myself from eating.”

The model said that even before her honeymoon she would indulge in Chinese food and cake before flying away to drink wine and sugary cocktails.

“Even in the week before our honeymoon, I remember gorging on Chinese food, bread, wedding cake and wine!” she admitted.

“Then, when we set off on honeymoon, I decided that it was a time to relax completely and really enjoy eating whatever I fancied. So that’s what I did!

“I ate desserts, drank wine and enjoyed sugary cocktails every day. I put on weight so quickly during the honeymoon that most of my clothes were too tight by the last few days of the holiday, and I had to wear baggy T-shirts and shorts.”

The former Miss World also admitted that the weight gain affected her self-confidence so much that she wouldn’t go to any social events.

“When we arrived home again, we had to go to a good friend’s engagement party, and there was only one dress in my wardrobe that would fit me, and the zip on it kept popping open all night!

“It definitely did affect my self-confidence, to the point that I avoided going to social events because none of my clothes would fit me,” she added.

“I felt self-conscious and low in confidence, but I also felt determined to get back to feeling healthy and fit again.”
