Pippa O'Connor: 'When I was pregnant people wrote me off as a model'

Top Irish model Pippa O’Connor has opened up about how unemployable she felt when she was pregnant.

The model-mum admitted she felt pressure from others in the industry about getting back to work after having her son Ollie.

“I definitely had stages of panic during and after pregnancy,” she said.

“I found, especially when I was pregnant, I was kind of being wrote off already-people were saying ‘You wont be back to that job in May will you? and I was thinking I don’t know, I’ve never done this before but I would like to think I will’.

“I found it very up and down with a lot of pressure.”

Speaking to the Brendan O’Connor Show on RTE Radio One, the blonde beauty revealed her TV presenter husband, Brian Ormond, pushed her to succeed in her blog.

“I was just thinking that I’d have this little blog, but Brian said ‘If you’re going to do It, why don’t you do it properly and spend it a bit of money on it to get a proper website’ So he definitely did give me a push.

“I’m a great one for ideas and Brian is a real do-er so we work well like that. I know I have these great ideas but Brian pushes me to fulfil them,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Kildare native admitted she’s still in denial over her mother’s sudden death last October.

“It’s not even a year yet and I think I probably still feel a little bit in denial. It’s still very surreal and you think you just haven’t seen that person in a while,” she revealed.
