Paul Mescal has reacted to his first ever Emmy nomination.
The Kildare actor, 24, is nominated for Leading Actor in a limited series, for his role as Connell Waldron in Normal People.
Director Lenny Abrahamson also landed an Emmy nomination, as did writers Sally Rooney and Alice Birch and Casting Director Louise Kiely.
But actress Daisy Edgar-Jones did not receive any nominations.
Sharing his shock on Twitter using an image from an emotional scene from the show, Paul gave his co-star a special mention.
“My actual face right now! Thank you to absolutely everyone at @ElementPictures, @hulu and @bbcthree!”
