Niall Horan announced as the new Ryder Cup ambassador

Niall Horan has been announced as the new ambassador for the Ryder Cup.

The singer has had a keen interest in golf since his band, One Direction, split earlier this year and owns his own management company, Modest! Golf.

Pro golfer, Darren Clarke, broke the news today that the Mullingar man would be joining “Team Europe.”

“Delighted to welcome my friend Niall Horan to Team Europe as one of our ambassadors for the 2016 Ryder Cup,” Darren wrote on Twitter.

The 22-year-old is no stranger to the big league, having taken part in the BMW PGA Championship Celebrity Pro-Am in May this year and set up his own charity golf tournament with Justin Rose.

The news comes after Niall partied up a storm with pal Laura Whitmore at Glastonbury over the weekend.
