RTE presenter Maura Derrane has admitted her toddler son, Cal, has developed a refined palate – revealing lobster is one of his favourite foods.
The Today host is currently spending her summer off-screen with family on the Aran Islands and admitted her one-year-old Cal is enjoying life out west.
“I know he’s only over a year old but he’s just taking in so much, from the landscape to the wildlife. It’s lovely to see his reaction to things,” she said.

The 45-year-old opened up about her young son’s expensive tastes – admitting he loved lobster.
“One of my neighbours, who is a fisherman, gave us fresh lobster he had caught, so I decided to see if Cal would take it and he did,” she revealed.
“He loved it, he’s got expensive taste.”
