Holly Carpenter: ‘Britain And Ireland’s Next Top Model was scarier than Masterchef’

Holly Carpenter has admitted that appearing on Britain And Ireland’s Next Top Model was scarier than being on Celebrity Masterchef.

The former Miss Ireland stars in the new season of Celebrity Masterchef but it won’t be her first stint on reality TV.

Holly previously starred on the show, which has headed up by Elle McPherson, and admitted the model series was tough going.

“That was scarier than Masterchef,” she said.

The model starred on the 2013 series and placed 7th in the competition.

“It’s crazy thinking about that but Elle Macperson is terrifying.

“She was a very scary human,” she told Ray Foley and Muireann O’Connell on The Seven O’Clock Show.

“I was so young, I was only 21 [and] she’s an iconic supermodel. We did not get on.”

The Dublin native also admitted that it gave her a taste for what reality TV was like and how those type of shows created drama.

“That was an experience, definitely, but it gave me a taste for what reality TV was like.”

“I knew what was happening,” she added.

“If you were in a situation and the producers are trying to stir [drama], they’ll say ‘Oh one of the other girls said this about you.’

“You can see how shows like Big Brother would work.”

Celebrity Masterchef is set to air on TV3 this autumn.
