Irish comedian Joanne McNally has admitted she looked like “death” while she battled her eating disorder.
The Dublin star has been opening up about her eating struggles, for her new play Bite Me, which will play at the Tiger Fringe Festival this month.
Speaking about going through anorexia and bulimia, Joanna said food was her way of coping.

“Bulimia was my way of coping with the world,” she told Star Chic magazine.
“I dealt with things by purging, but it got to the point where I was being sick all day every day.
“I was very underweight, I looked like death but I thought I looked great.
“I thought I had more weight to lose,” she admitted.
Joanne added that things got so bad she used to steal her “man’s credit cards to buy food” and would “lie to anyone”.
Eventually Joanne left work and went into full-time treatment for her disorder.
