Holly Carpenter admits: 'I still suffer with self-esteem'

Top Irish model Holly Carpenter has revealed she still suffers with her self-esteem.

Although one of Ireland’s most beautiful catwalk stars, she admitted she can feel self-conscious on her days off, afraid people won’t think she’s as “good-looking in person”.

“My job can make you feel good about yourself when there are pictures of you looking great,” she said.

“But when I’m just going around being myself I feel paranoid that if I meet someone they are going to think, ‘oh, she isn’t as good-looking in person.”

The former Miss Ireland, who is known for her social media presence, revealed honesty is the key to her online success.

“If I’m hungover, I’ll say I’m hungover. I think it’s good for young girls to have someone relatable,” she told the Herald.

“I look at models from all over the world and their pictures are always perfect, but I think it’s actually okay to come across as normal.”
