The singer competed in the BBC show in 2012

Nicky Byrne has revealed that Louis Walsh didn’t want him to win Strictly Come Dancing.

Ahead of the first Dancing With The Stars show, Louis told Hometown’s Dayl Cronin that he was going to win the show – but he didn’t tell Nicky the same in 2012.

“It was X Factor versus Strictly at the time,” he admitted to Goss.ie.

“Louis’ great, and I still keep in contact with him. He’s right to tell Dayl to go off and win it.

“He was very complimentary of me during the Eurovision time. I haven’t spoken to him yet about this and I’m sure he would be very complimentary as well.”

Watch Dancing With The Stars on Sunday at 6.30pm on RTE 1.
