EXCLUSIVE! Jonathan Rhys Meyers bounces back after Dracula flop – with TWO new movies

Jonathan Rhys Meyers has revealed he is is set to star in two new movies, after his series Dracula was cancelled.

The Cork actor, whose Dracula series was screened in the US and Europe, was left disappointed when the show was axed.

But speaking to Goss.ie Jonathan said he’s back to work already.

“I’m shooting a film in Casablanca, I’m in rehearsals for it now and I start in two weeks time. It’s called Damascus cover, it’s about Mussat,” he explained.

Axed: Dracula was cancelled after one series

The film follows a veteran spy sent undercover in Syria to smuggle a chemical weapons scientist and his family out of Damascus.

And Jonathan, 37, revealed he is set to star alongside Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke Set in the upcoming thriller Voice From the Stone.

The actor revealed his happy news as he attended The Barretstown 20th Anniversary Gala Ball in Dublin last night.

“I got an email asking me as an Irishman would I come and do this. I happened to be in Europe rehearsing so it was suitable,” he said.

Jonathan brought his new girlfriend Mara Lane to the event, after Goss.ie exclusively revealed he was dating the actress.

The pair looked loved up on the night, but refused to pose for pictures together.

After walking the red carpet Jonathan joined 950 guests at The Convention Centre, where Ray D’Arcy hosted the ball.

Inside the glamorous event Jonathan recited a special poem to guests, written by a child and mother from Barretstown.

Other special guests on the night included rugby star Gordon D’Arcy and Oscar winner Glen Hansard.
