Charlene McKenna has admitted that she’s terrible at being in love.
The 31-year-old actress is currently dating American actor Adam Rothenburg, however she’s not sure if she ever sees herself walking up the aisle.
“I’ve learned that I’m terrible at love,” she said.

“I always thought I would be more of a ‘married with kids’ type than I actually am. I don’t know about marriage, but I do want kids one day and all the ‘normal’ stuff.”
“I’ve also learned that you never stop learning with love, and you learn so much about yourself because of it,” she told the Irish Independent.
Charlene and Adam met when they starred together on drama Ripper Street with the Monaghan native insisting he’s one of the smartest people she’s ever met.
“It’s a total cliché. We fell in love working together,” she said.

“Adam is just one of the smartest and most talented people I have ever met, and he’s an amazing anchor for this acting world we’re in.
“He’s older than me so that’s very grounding because he has no interest in the hype, as he has kind of been there and done that.
“I often think he would make a wonderful psychologist, as we have really good in-depth chats and he’s a very good person.”

Meanwhile, Charlene also opened up about her previous relationship with Irish actor Aidan Turner.
The pair dated from 2007 to 2009 and Aidan has since become one of the most in demand actors in the industry thanks to his starring role on Poldark.
“He’s flying and I’m so proud of him,” she said.
“We still keep in touch and I knew he would do this well for himself. I always told him he would be a movie star.”
