Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will not be attending any of the royal Christmas events this year.
The couple will instead choose to remain abroad with their son Archie.
The pair will be absent from the family’s pre-Christmas lunch which took place at Buckingham palace on Wednesday the 18th of December.
However, the Queen and the royal family are said to be understanding about the couple’s absence.
“As the couple made clear a few weeks ago, they are taking some time away together as a family,” an insider told The Mail Online.
“This means that they will miss Christmas events.”
The pair will join Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland for the festive period this year.
It is not known where exactly the couple intend to spend Christmas.
They are currently enjoying a six week break from all royal activities and commitments, following the release of a documentary in which they discussed the struggles of living in the royal spotlight.Â
