Prince Harry and Meghan Markle make their first appearance since announcing pregnancy

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made their first appearance since announcing their pregnancy.

On Valentine’s Day, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed that they are expecting their second child.

On Monday, the couple appeared at a virtual Spotify event to discuss their Archewell Audio podcast, after signing a multi-year deal with the streaming service in December.

The royal couple said: “We’re using podcasting to drive powerful conversations that inspire, challenge, and educate.”

Meghan, 39, said: “We created Archewell Audio to make sure that we can elevate voices that maybe aren’t being heard, and hear people’s stories.”

Harry added: “The biggest part of this is trying to create this community of where you can share [and] encourage everybody else to then share their own vulnerabilities within that safe space.”

Speaking ahead of the launch of their podcast, Meghan and Harry said: “What we love about podcasting is that it reminds all of us to take a moment and to really listen, to connect to one another without distraction.”

“With the challenges of 2020, there has never been a more important time to do so, because when we hear each other, and hear each other’s stories, we are reminded of how interconnected we all are.”

The couple’s first podcast episode went live in December, with their son Archie making an appearance.

The podcast featured audio diaries from a host of famous faces, as they reflected on their experiences in 2020.

Their special guests include legendary singer Elton John, tennis pro Naomi Osaka, actor and presenter James Corden, and many more.
