RTE have denied hey are commemorating the late Gerry Ryan with a life-sized bronze statue.
The Sunday World newspaper claimed a statue was created by sculptor Patrick O’Reilly, and would have cost €70,000 to make.
However, RTÉ have denied the story but claimed they will be having a memorial for Gerry.
“The story printed in today’s Sunday World is inaccurate and incorrect,” a statement read.

“2fm are planning a memorial to Gerry Ryan but it is not a life size statue and it does not cost €70k or anything close it.
“This is event will be marked privately”
Goss.ie exclusively revealed RTE radio 1 held a memorial for Gerry during a concert recently.
