RTE legend Gerry Ryan’s younger brother has admitted it took two years to deal with the pain of his death.
The much-loved 2FM star was found dead in 2010 aged 53 – after a heart attack fueled by the use of cocaine in his Dublin apartment.
And Gerry’s brother Mick, 51, said it has been “very tough” to deal with the sudden death.

He said: “It’s been tough, very tough. The grieving process normally kicks in immediately.
“But it took us two years before we were really able as a family to sit down and grieve.”

And Mick – who works as a sound engineer in RTE – said Gerry’s ex-wife and kids are doing much better now.
He added: “The kids are doing fine. Morah is doing good. I’m doing good.”
RTE are planning to commemorate Gerry’s memory with a special plaque outside the radio building he used to work in.
