Following in dad's footsteps: Lottie Ryan 'couldn't be happier' with 2FM radio show

Lottie Ryan has told how she “couldn’t be happier” with her 2FM show – despite only 2,000 listeners tuning in.

The Dubliner had always wanted a career in broadcasting, eager to follow in the footsteps of her dad Gerry Ryan.

And despite the minimal listenership at 6am, Lottie told Goss.ie she is happy with the progress of The Early Early Breakfast Show.

“It’s going really, really well and I’m having a ball. I couldn’t be happier. I’m more excited now about radio than I thought I was going to be. More so,”  she told Goss.ie.

“I’m really, really enjoying it. The response has been amazing from listeners. It’s very exciting getting into the New Year” she added.

The radio star has had to get used to becoming an early riser given her show is broadcast at 6am on the weekend – but is finding it easier.

She said “The early mornings do get easier. You definitely adjust to them because it starts to bleed into your week normally. So I’m nearly ready for bed by lunchtime”

Lottie also revealed she has “no plans” to try for a career in TV, with radio taking top priority. She added: “I’m totally focussed on the show for the moment.”
