RTE are looking for a massive €180,000 a year to sponsor 2FM’s Breakfast Republic.
The 2FM morning show – which is presented by Jennifer Maguire, Bernard O’Shea and Keith Walsh – is seen as a major cash cow for the station.
Already it has brought in more than €100,000 since replacing Hector in February this year after a deal with Berocca.
Now management are searching for a replacement after the energy drink company’s deal ended after nine months.

Bosses are also offering the chance to get on board with six months of the show for €110,000, documents seen by Goss.ie show.
Despite this it is the only one of 2FM’s weekday shows – apart from Colm Hayes – which has managed to get a sponsor on board.
RTE are telling advertising companies after just seven months on air they “have already really shaken up mornings on 2FM”.

2FM are also still looking for €245,000 a year to find a sponsor for Nicky Byrne’s new radio show.
And Ryan Tubridy has yet to secure anyone to come on board with his morning programme.
More than three years after taking over from the late Gerry Ryan, RTE chiefs are still searching for a partner despite charging just €200,000.
Management had hoped to make huge money from his 2FM show and pitched annual sponsorship of €500,000 to advertising agencies when Tubridy first started.
