Bertie Ahern: 'I tune in to Nicky Byrne's radio show'

Nicky Byrne’s new radio show is shooting up in the ratings – and
now it turns out he has a rather famous listener.

Former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern – the Westlife star’s father-in-law –
revealed he loves his arrival on 2FM.

The ex-Fianna Fail leader told Goss.ie that he always listens to
the show when “out and about.”

“I have been listening to Nicky’s radio show, he’s doing really,
really well,” Bertie told Goss.ie.

“And it’s really good. Whenever I’m out and about in the morning I
always listen to him – it’s going really well for him.”

Bertie was speaking at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby,
adding that he was having a “really good day” after a number of wins.

It comes after Nicky has previously defended Bertie as a “likeable,
nice guy” who made few mistakes.

“Plenty of people have opinions on Bertie, for lots of different
reasons but, you know, it’s one of those where he was in power for so
long,” he previously said.

Fan: Bertie loves The Nicky Byrne Show on 2FM

“Unfortunately, with the economic crisis that Ireland is in, the whole
world is in it, but people will only look at what’s going on in their
own backyard.

“I’m sure Bertie probably feels he made some mistakes, but, actually,
not many more mistakes than previous people before him.
