Axed Hector vows NEVER to work for 2FM again – but other radio stations want him

Axed Hector O’hEochagain has revealed other radio stations have come looking to give him a show.

The former 2FM presenter has vowed never to work at the RTE station after he was dumped from his morning slot by Dan Healy.

Asked if he would work in 2FM again, he insisted: “No, but people have come to me from other radio stations, so it’s great. But I don’t listen to the radio now. I just want to do TV.”

The 44-year-old spoke out after it emerged his replacement – Breakfast Republic – lost 13,000 listeners to 111,000.

Replacement: Bernard and Jennifer are on 2FM in the mornings now

He said: “The show is gone. Dan Healy made that decision and he has to live with it. The JNLRs speak for themselves.”

He added: “I can say categorically it wasn’t my decision to leave that radio show. A new guy came in to 2FM, he made his decision.

“It certainly wasn’t my decision as we were doing well, revenue wise, and had the most popular show on 2FM for 18-35 years olds.”
