Alan Hughes has said the Broadcast Authority of Ireland were “an absolute disgrace” for upholding a complaint against Derek Mooney.
Listeners had complained about the RTE Radio One presenter, after he had a conversation about same sex marriage on his radio show.
The BAI agreed with the complaint, claiming he had “breached regulations” for a guest telling a listener “I hope you do get gay marriage.”

Now presenter pal Alan has said the decision to blast Derek was appalling.
“I think RTE should fight it. Michael (Murphy) was there and he said, ‘I hope you’re able to marry,’ like I would say to anyone else, ‘I hope you’re able to marry the one you love’.
“The fact that the commission upheld the complaint is absolutely outrageous and RTE should go back and appeal it,” Alan told the Herald.
