2FM star Ryan Tubridy has vowed to continue building his morning show’s ratings – after a phenomenal 27,000 jump.
But Tubs, 41, insisted that the hard work wasn’t over – and would make sure the massive rise wasn’t a fluke.

“It’s been a slow burner, but as a team we were committed to making this show work and hopefully this is the start of a good news story for us,” he said.
“The listeners make the show, so I’m indebted to them, really. Now it’s on with the show.”
Until the latest figures, Tubridy was still miles away from the late Gerry Ryan, who once had 295,000.
Insiders said he now finally saw he didn’t have a poisoned slot and could continue to improve.

A source said: “This was definitely needed for Tubridy. He’s had so much bad press around his ratings – now, finally, he doesn’t have to feel hounded.”
2FM boss Dan Healy said Tubridy had the “hardest gig in radio” after taking over from Gerry
He added: “It was a monumental challenge. It’s taken a while, but Ryan is building up his own loyal listenership.”
