You can't make it up: George Clooney gets a song penned for him ahead of Irish trip with wife Amal

An Irish band have revealed they are writing a song for George Clooney ahead of his upcoming visit to Ireland with wife Amal.

And the Corrigan Brothers, from Limerick, will courier the first copy of their single to the Hollywood star himself ahead of its release next month.

They will release When George Clooney and Amal come back home to Tullahought on February 10, with filming set to take place in his ancestral home at the start of the month.

It will explicitly feature George’s ancestral home Tullahought, Co. Kilkenny where the movie star is expected to pay a visit.

The Corrigan Brothers have also written another track, Welcome Home George Clooney, and told Goss.ie they are hoping to be able to perform the track for the Oceans 11 actor when he visits later this year.

Guitarist Brian Corrigan said: “We look forward to performing the song for George and his when they visit Tulahought to see his original homestead and meet his relations. We hope he will join us in a sing song in Powers Pub.”

Goss.ie previously reported George was planning on doing a cycling trip around Ireland with close pal Bono before the U2 frontman’s bike accident.

The Corrigan Brothers have previously released songs including There’s No One As Irish As Barack Obama as well as celebrating Susan Boyle’s cat with I’m Pebbles Boyle Spare A Thought For Me.
