Sinead O’Connor has told how she nearly died while on TV – when her lungs stopped working.
The Wicklow singer admits she feared defecating her leather trousers during her performance last month on Later… With Jools Holland.
The 47-year-old made the revelation on her blog after being asked why she looked like she had been crying just before the performance.
And Sinead admitted: “Absolutely genuinely thought was gonna pop me f**kin’ clogs right there on the telly.”
She added: Since am unable to lie I admitted I had the most awful stomach f**king bug for a few days which was at its very f**king most evil just before I was due in make up at 7pm.
“And precisely again as I began singing Take Me To Church, wherein I really seriously thought I was gonna die and s**t my leather pants.
“I suddenly got so boiling hot from word one and my lungs stopped working properly and there’s a s**tload of words with not much time to take a breath anyway.
“And I fucking could literally just about barely breathe at all between lungs failing and me trying to keep the shit in. Never happened before in my life.

“Absolutely genuinely thought was gonna pop me f**kin’ clogs right there on the telly. Only time in my life I ever thought I’m about to die. Wasn’t the death I’d hoped for, like. Rather fancied the blaze of glory.”
And Sinead admitted that she was even trying to think of her God, to end up with him if she did pass away.
But she added: “Very f**kin’ hard to think of Krishna too under such circumstances.
“And according to Hindu theology, if you aren’t thinking of Krishna when you die, you won’t end up with him. Christ. Talk about stress!”
