Nicky Byrne DENIES Westlife reunion – after reports Simon Cowell is bringing them back together

Nicky Byrne has said Westlife will not be reuniting despite rumours the band were getting back together.

Today the Sun had reported that Westlife were making a return next year, with Brian McFadden on board for a reunion tour and new album.

But speaking to Ryan Tubridy this morning on 2FM, Nicky said there is no reunion on the cards.

“It is not true. I don’t know where it’s come from,” he said.

“I would usually suggest that Louis dropped this story to keep Westlife relevant but it’s probably not Louis because it came from Dan Wooton in the English Sun.

“I genuinely hands on my heart, none of the boys have spoken to each other and we’ve no plans to do any reunion,” he said.

Nicky said all of the band members are too busy with their own careers to be even thinking about a Westlife return.

“Loads of reasons. It’s far too soon, we’re all making rail roads in our own careers,” he said.

“From a personal point of view I’m loving what I’m doing, I’m planning some TV work, I’m also recording my own album in my own time.

“This has definitely come way out of the blue, it’s not true,” he admitted.

“I’ve been writing for the last couple of months with Don Mescall and Wayne Hector, Wayne wrote Flying Without Wings and Swear It Again.

“No deals on that, it’s just when you’re in studio you’re writing it all yourself, that really is for the first time,” he added.

Meanwhile band mate Kian Egan also denied the reunion, despite more “insiders” claiming the band have been meeting with Simon Cowell again.

“Guys I’m sorry to say but I don’t know where these rumours are coming from about a Westlife reunion but it’s untrue. Sorry #weslifeforever,” he wrote on Twitter.
