Former X Factor star Melanie McCabe has revealed she’s always secretly hated the show – despite competing four times.
The Dublin singer admitted she hasn’t watched a single second of the ITV series this year, and only used it to try and get a career leg-up.
She said: “No, I haven’t been watching it. I don’t like X Factor. Everyone thinks it’s mad when I say that but I just went on it to further my career.

“The only year that I watched it was when Leona Lewis was on it in the second series.
“It’s nothing against X Factor but I don’t watch that much TV anyway, I don’t have one in my room or anything.”

But the 20-year-old insisted she has no regrets about going on the show – with viewers last season seeing her being sent home by Nicole Scherzinger.
“I don’t regret any of it, no. It has really helped my career,” she told the Herald.
“I sing because I love it, it’s what I love doing and it wasn’t about getting on a TV show for me.”
Previously Melanie claimed producers had told she would finally make it to the live shows if she auditioned again.
Now Melanie is looking at moving to the US soon in a bid to escape the X Factor link.
