Linda Martin has claimed Nicky Byrne won’t win this year’s Eurovision contest.
The Westlife star is representing Ireland in Sweden next week, but former Eurovision winner Linda has said he won’t bring home the gold.
“I know it’s not going to win but I’m totally supportive of Nicky because it’s a platform for him to try and kick-star his solo career,” she told the Sunday World.

“I know he has an album and everything ready to go and really I think we should all be supporting anybody that is going to Eurovision to represent our country.
“It’s a nice song…He is well known in Europe and will get the young people’s vote. So it comes right down to juries and they can be tricky.
“If he ticks all the boxes he will get out of the semi-final,” she admitted.
Meanwhile Linda admitted last year sending young Molly Sterling was hard because she was so new to the media game.
“Last year we sent over a girl who was very inexperienced and the Eurovision is al about getting the interviews done, getting your name about and Nicky knows how to work the press,” she explained.
