Hozier has yet another reason to smile – after being nominated for an award at the MTV European Music Awards.
The Wicklow singer is up for the Best Song With A Message prize for his track Take Me To Church – which takes place on Sunday in Scotland.
He is up against Arcade Fire’s We Exist, Beyoncé’s Pretty Hurts, Alicia Keys’ We Are Here and Meghan Trainor’s All About That Bass.

It is an award which is sponsored by Someone Like Me, who are trying to eradicate HIV through safe sex.
They have been selected because of their empowering content and lyrics that encourage young people to become more socially conscious and unafraid to talk without being judged.
The winner will be selected entirely through Twitter, Instagram and Vine, with “#TakeMeToChurchEMA” registering a vote for Hozier.
The EMAs take place in Glasgow, Scotland, on Sunday November 9 and will be hosted by Nicki Minaj.
