Comedian Jack Whitehall responds to Prince William after he ‘outrageously shaded’ him during a school visit

Comedian Jack Whitehall has responded to Prince William after he “outrageously shaded” him during a school visit.

The future King surprised a school in the West Midlands and shared his daughter Princess Charlotte’s favourite joke.

Prince William was invited to St Michael’s Church of England High School by Freddie Hadley, 12, to see their mental health programmes.

During the visit, the Prince of Wales joined Freddie and his classmates for a brief segment on their school radio station.

The future King was then asked to share a “dad joke” whilst on air.

Jack, who recently became a father with partner Roxy Horner to daughter Elsie, seven months, can be seen watching the video in his response posted to Instagram.

Prince William said: “I’m kind of trying to channel Jack Whitehall, because most of his jokes are pretty dad-like.”

Jack beamed as the monarch said he was going to “channel” him, however, his expression quickly changed when Prince William described the comedian’s jokes as “dad like.”

The royal then told a knock-knock joke about “Interrupting Cow” instead, saying it’s currently Princess Charlotte’s favourite, adding: “That’s one I hear a lot at home at the moment.”

Once the children asked: “Interrupting Cow who?” the royal quipped “moo.”

As some laughed and some groaned at the dad joke, William insisted it was the most “clean” and “broadcast-able” joke he could think of on the spot.

Jack can then be seen looking shocked by the joke before picking up his notebook and pen to remember the one-liner for himself next time.

Jack joked that he has now lost the chance of getting a “knighthood” as he wrote: “An outrageous shading from the future King. #DadJokes #theregoesmyknighthood.”
